Pet Therapy Program

Pet therapy is now a well known fact for an autistic person or someone with Asperger’s syndrome. However, it can also be a wonderful treat for the elderly people, who are often living alone.

Our Volunteers have launched a brand new Pet Therapy Program. Unlike other Pet Visiting Programs, the program’s focus is to provide you with the benefits of one-to-one intervention from our four and 2 legged friends.

Our friendly animals and their handlers volunteer their time to undertake therapeutic work in conjunction with parents and carers to enhance your well being.

Pet therapy reduces:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Pain
  • Blood pressure
  • Bad mood
  • Social withdrawal
  • Poor memory
  • Apathy
  • Restlessness
