Volunteer for Room and Board

Parrot Garden Cafe in Northern NSW. We have 7 acres in the beautiful Crystal Creek Valley, 40 min from the next beach. We rescue parrots and other animals and have a petting zoo with Miniature donkeys, goats and countless others.

You can stay with us for six hours work daily per person in exchange for meals in our outdoor area and accommodation.

We usually offer you $50,- per week for food and you are able to buy your own supplies or eat the food we will serve which is vegetarian.

We plan to open the Parrot Garden Cafe soon and you can purchase own snacks and drinks if you need something what is not on our volunteer menu like cakes, soft drinks, chips, sweets eg.

Work includes helping clean the place, raking, gardening, animal care, cleaning, planting trees for wildlife, removing weeds, painting, repairing and maintaining the animal park. Work is varied and depends on what needs doing on the day. Only suitable for people who do not mind animal smells, some dirt and manure. Animals are mainly rescued birds and some unwanted or orphaned domestic animals.

Any building skills are very welcome to help construct/repair enclosures and aviaries for rescue animals.

Must genuinely love children and animals.

10 km from Murwillumbah. We can pick up from Murwillumbah by prior arrangement.
